9/3 Game Thread Between Giants And Padres
This evening at Petco Park, the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres complete their four-game series.
Alex Cobb, a right-hander who enters the current game with a 3.57 Period and 3.81 FIP, 35 walks to 125 strikeouts in 141.1 innings pitched, will start for the Giants. I’m not even aware that I need to remind you about Cobb’s continued performance starting on Tuesday in the Goliaths’ 6-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. In his recap, Brady added it in an incredibly intelligent way. Cobb had a no-hitter going with two outs in the 10th inning, but Spencer Steer ruined it because he can’t stand fun, in case you missed it and are in a hurry.
Seth Lugo, a right-handed pitcher for the Padres, will be his opponent today. As of the current game, he had a 3.67 Period, 3.75 FIP, 26 walks versus 113 strikeouts in 115.1 innings thrown. His most recent start came in the Padres‘ 6-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, during which he gave up three runs (two of which were earned) on six hits, walked once, and struck out six batters in six innings.
